Agarwood inoculation is a process where a wound is intentionally created on an agarwood tree (Aquilaria) and a stimulative agent, or inoculant, is introduced
Holes are drilled in the tree trunk, typically 2cm in diameter and 5-6cm deep, at a 45-degree angle
The tree's defense mechanism, triggered by the wound and inoculant, leads to the production of agarwood resin.
The inoculant is applied into the created holes.
